Esophageal Cancer Surgery

Esophagectomy removes diseased portions of the esophagus and reconstructs the food passage often using stomach or colon. It is done via open, laparoscopic, or robotic surgeries with 10-14 days in hospital and 2-3 months for dietary and functional recovery. Adjuvant therapy may be required for advanced cases.
